Discover Sutter Creek

A beautiful historic town built during the Gold Rush in 1854, Sutter Creek is a peaceful haven for tourists seeking an escape from the rush of urban life. The town offers wonderful lodging, restaurants and has a thriving artistic community. One of the best preserved Old West towns in California, also named the Best Town in the Gold Country by Sunset Magazine, it hosts historic sites of interest, shopping from antique stores to shops with unique clothing, home decor, galleries with art and jewelry, restraurants, bed & breakfast inns, wine tasting, and of course, the Sutter Creek Theatre. Nearby is Daffodil Hill, numerous wineries, beautiful outdoor recreational opportunities, and more historic sites of interest.

Many people who come to the Sutter Creek Theatre for our concert and theater events, make a weekend of it by staying at one of the many local Inns or B&Bs, most which are within 3 blocks of the Theatre. Downtown Sutter Creek also offers a nice variety of restaurants and shops as well.
